Another very busy day. I have my own sandpit here and it’s great fun to play in. Naughty Papa buried me in it today.
I also decided that the grass needed cutting so I got out my little lawnmower and started on the big job. I bet Papa tells everyone that he cut the grass after he left it up to poor little me to work hard all day long in the blazing sun, shame on him.
Days here are a lot busier than at home, I think because there is a lot more to do. I vaguely remember that Mama drove Opa’s brmm brmm last year but today she definitely did, taking us to the shopping centre where Oma works and I got to run around, generally look cute, be adored by old people and explore the Lego section of the supermarket with Papa.
When we got back I heard that apparently there is a Fish Festival on somewhere in town so I convinced everyone that we should go. IT was fun, there were lots of rides on a fair but I was too small for them yet. Maybe next year, but for now I settled for playing with the wheels on the brmm brmms. Papa of course went and had a whole bratwurst to himself but I settled for stealing bits from Oma’s plate.
After we got back I played in the garden, which is much better when it is light because you can actually see things. There are lots of toys here for me to play with and I haven’t managed to walk from one side of the garden to the other yet, I think I would get lost. (hint to Mama and Papa, buy house with bigger garden for me to play in).
I did however have a slight accident. I was running so fast that I fell over on the bricks and grazed both of my knees. I’ve never done this before but it hurt a lot and Mama and Oma had to put these things on me to stop the cuts getting dirty. They also put something called Magic Cream on my too. I don’t think it can be that magic, it still hurt afterwards.
Today has been strange. Normally on a Sunday Grandma and Granddad pick me up go to their house and play but today that didn’t happen. Instead Mama and Papa were running around putting lots of different things into these big bags.
Finally Grandma and Granddad turned up in the afternoon but instead of taking me to their house, Mama and Papa put the big bags into the car and they came with us on a long ride to a big building where there were lots of people, all with big bags and queued up to give them to a woman behind a desk. The big bags then disappeared behind the wall and we had to go to another part of the building.
I liked it there because there was lots of space to run around in and shops to play with things. I particularly liked the one shop where the assistants played hide and seek with me. I think they were having a pretty quiet and boring day so I cheered them up a bit.
After a while we all had to walk outside because there was a big aeroplane waiting for us. I didn’t like it when the plane took off but was quite happy when it landed again and after we picked up the big bags that we lost at the other end we were picked up by Oma and Opa. I remember them from a few months ago, they are a bit like Grandma and Granddad except they are related to Mama and not Papa.
They took us in a big brmm brmm to their house that I sort of remember a bit from Christmas but please bear with me, the memory of an 18 month old is not always that good. The bestest thing is though, that they have a huge garden for me to explore and even though it was dark and scary when we got to their house I wandered around checking out my new play areas. (note, Mama and Papa’s garden is tiny and rubbish and there’s a big hole in the corner and a pile of rubble in the other corner, must get them to buy another house with a big garden for me to play in).
Today was going so nicely, I’d tricked the parents into giving me lots of chocolate. Then we went out for a walk which I always enjoy. We walked all the way to this big building and it was great there, because there were lots of little people like me to play with.
Then things weren’t so nice. Mama and Papa took me off to a room with more big people in it and one of the nasty, horrible, big people stock a needle in both of my legs, which bloody hurt. A lot.
I don’t think I want to walk to that building again *sniff *sniff.
I am of course already honing my skills as a racing driver for my future career as a Formula 1 driver. However I had my first accident today. I ran over my Grandad’s head in my go-kart. He has a headache now. I’m very sorry.
One of the advantages of having parents of different nationalities is that you get all the goodies and customs from both sides. Well, actually there’s not much from the British side as we don’t seem to have any real special days or events for children but at least I get the advantages of having a German Mama.
In Germany it is children’s day today where it is customary to spoil the little ones in you life. Mama is off in the kitchen baking me yummy fairy cakes, already been plied with chocolate and generally getting even more attention than normal. I’m happy.
Good old Tyger Jnr has got his Papa to set up a blog for him. Perhaps this is a new trend in baby blogging, or perhaps we have Papa’s who are completely mad and spend too much time on the net when they’re supposed to be entertaining us. Probably the latter.
Anyway, it’s nice to know we have so much in common and that I’m not alone out here anymore. Link to blogroll duly added.
My naughty Mama has been trying to pin the blame for the disappearance of chocolate in the house on me by putting up photos of me with chocolate all over my mouth. I can confirm that there is only one true chocolate monster in the house and it is definitely of the Mama variety.
On a side note, I’ve been learning to run. Not perfect at it yet and I have a tendency to stretch my arms out in front of me like a demented zombie from a crappy horror flick but I’m getting there.
Today I decided that it was my turn to take Papa for a walk. I think he expected us to go to the corner of the street but he was wrong. We went all the way into Willenhall town centre to the clock.
However then I got a bit tired so I insisted that he carry me on his shoulders all the way home.
It’s rather easy to get these big people to do what you want them to.
