Apologies for an absence of a month. I’ve been busy learning new things like walking but more importantly building what is now the sixth incarnation of my website. I was happy with the old Wordpress structure but wanted a bit more functionality and an opportunity to play around with some exciting new multi-media stuff.
First up is the little rolling image gallery situated below the archives in the sidebar. It’s got a few holding images in at the moment but what you are looking at is an embedded module running through AJAX which is very exciting as I’ve never tried using it before.
Enough for now, I’ll just be trying out a few bits and bobs later like uploading video, it broke on my old site but should in theory work here. I still have to upload the photos back into the posts as the script is looking for them on a different server and directory from where they will be here. The whole blog section has been re-indexed and back dated to when I first started blogging. Apologies to purists but this required changing the timestamps but I promise I’m not trying to do anything naughty by doing it.
Anyway, enjoy, back with some more content later. Oh, almost forgot, still a couple of jobs to do like getting a new favicon etc but only minor touches.
There are many things in the world that go well with coke (not that I’ve tried it of course) vodka, bacardi etc. However one thing that decidedly doesn’t go with coke is a laptop, to be more precise, Mama’s laptop.
The incident involved our house guest knocking over a pint glass worth of coke on Mama’s laptop yesterday. I think the incident made Mama very sad because she loved her little laptop. Papa tried taking it apart to see if he could do anything but the coke was dripping from every direction and had gotten everywhere. He will leave it to dry but suffice to say, even if he can get it going again the keyboard membrane will be completely ruined - so Mama will have to use an external keyboard at the best.
In the spirit of the current trends in UK politics and inspired by Tom Watson I decided to join those with video blogs. Now unfortunately I am not currently able to offer profound comment on the world around me due to the fact that I can’t speak yet. So for now you will have to contain yourself with me being cute in Starbucks in Wolverhampton.
